The Infoxchange Service Seeker provides clear and simple
searching.
You
can search for services by:
- name
of the service
-
by characteristics of the service
- by
the name of the providing agency
You
can make extensive location searches which include:
- State
- Suburb
or town
- Local
Government regions
- Department
of Human Service regions
Two
Service Text Searches are available.
Keyword
searching, which allows you to find a service by using up
to five keywords from its description, is the most comprehensive
search method. The program provides a list of keywords for
you to select from in order to initiate a search.
Keyword
searching is the answer to finding the service with the
features you want, located where you want.
Focus
searching allows you to find a service according to its
category, type or focus. You first choose a Service Area
from a list of broad categories like Community Care, Disabilities,
Education, Employment, Health, Housing or Recreation. After
selecting your broad category you then narrow the focus
by selecting a Service Target. So for Education, you could
narrow your focus to preschools, special schools or universities,
for example.
Focus
searching is the answer to finding lists of services of
a particular type or category.
Service
Text Searching returns a list and then individual service
screens according to your choice.
Each
service screen in the directory shows:
- The
essential service details.
- The
information needed to gain access to the service.
-
A date showing how recently the details were checked with
the agency providing the service.

The information for each service includes a point of
contact and telephone numbers
A
service description specifies:
- the
nature of the service delivered
-
the target group of each service
- the
office hours & availability of the particular service
- referral
& assessment requirements
